Mobile Phone Jargon Buster

Mobile Phone Jargon Buster

When you are wishing to get a new mobile phone, have you noticed all the jargon? Well I am going to try and explain what some of it means so that it might help you find the phone you need.

3G -- This is the third generation communication system. It uses a frequency of 2200 MHz.(2.2 GHz). It means that you can access say the Internet quicker than using the older GSM system.,SMS, UMTS

Android -- Mobile phones are like tiny hand held computers these days and thus need an operating system on which applications can be run. Android is one of the operating systems you can find used in mobile phones.

App. -- App. is abbreviated from application.

GPRS -- General Packet Radio Service. This allows the mobile phone to be used for data transmissions.

GSM --  Global System for Mobile Communications or Groupe Speciale Mobile. This is the second generation of mobile communications and allowed data to be communicated. to mobile phones. This is now superseded by the 3G data communications system.

HSDPA --

Quad band --  Covers 850 900 1800 and 1900 thus able to connect to most networks in most countries.

SMS --  Short Message Service is the texting system used by mobile phones. It means you can send a message made up of a maximum of 160 text characters.

Tri-band -- This allows the mobile phone to attempt to connect you using one of the following bands or frequencies. 900 1800 or 1900 GHz. Tri-band phones allow you to use your mobile in most countries of the world. See Quad band

UMTS -- Universal Mobile Telecommunication System. This is the name of the technology that 3G uses to transmit data to mobile phones within the UK.

I will be adding more soon, keep checking back

Selecting a Mobile Phone Deal

May 9, 2010 06:46 by Admin

Selecting a Mobile Phone Deal

To some a mobile phone is just for use very seldom, generally when away from home, for others however, they will be using the mobile phone every day, even when at home.

Using a mobile phone at one time meant calling someone to speak to or sending a SMS message. (SMS stands for short message service and gives the user a maximum of 160 characters that they can send in a message).

Where can you get the cheapest mobile phone deals?

Before you begin your search, just exactly what are you looking for in a mobile phone?

You may want to have an all singing, all dancing mobile phone that can gain access to the Internet and provide you with many additional applications. On the other hand you might want a phone that you can use occasionally use.

Dental Implants

May 4, 2010 09:44 by Admin

Dental Implants

Traditionally when you lose front teeth then dentures would be fitted, however in more modern times implants are being used to fill the gap, so to speak. The cost can vary from around £800 to £3000 for a single tooth in the UK. The cost varies based upon the work involved. The advantages however for many people out way the costs involved.

So what is a dental implant. Well put simple the jaw bone is drilled and then a metal rod made from titanium is fitted into the hole in the bone. The bone will grow and grip this rod over time, say from six weeks to six months. After the bone has bonded to the rod a peg is inserted and then an impression taken so that a denture can be made that fits onto the peg.

Not everyone can have dental implants since there are limitations. Heavy smoking or drinking can slow down the process of getting the bone to bond to the titanium rods placed into the jaw bone. Periodontal Gum Disease needs to be cured before the implants can be fitted. Night time teeth grinders need special measures in place to allow the healing to take place.

If you lose all or most of the teeth this does not mean that you need to have the rods inserted for all them. Bridges are made that span a few gaps.

Bathroom Suite

Bathroom Suites

Someone told me that they had been quoted over 3 grand for4 a bathroom suite. Since they are on limited budget I suggested they looked around for some deals on the Internet.

When checking prices it well worth noting if the price includes all parts rerquired. The WC.bath and basin are likely to be included, however there will be likely not include the taps, drain plug, etc. Sometimes the toilet seat is an extra.
